Take A Few Practice Laps With Kyle Wyman

Thousands of spectators watched the Vance & Hines AMA XR1200 series from the stands at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis., last weekend, and they certainly got their money’s worth. But what we’re offering you here is a much better view of this famous 56-year-old racetrack, one of the few road circuits that continues to maintain its original configuration.

And you get to see it all from the perspective of Kuryakyn-sponsored rider Kyle Wyman’s machine — with the assistance of three strategically placed onboard cameras. You’ll see Kyle make practice laps on the 4.048-mile, multi-elevation course, leaning way over to make its 14 turns and opening the throttle for that long front stretch where speeds can approach over 135 mph on the XR1200, and 200mph on a superbike.

Road America is a classic road circuit, and here, through the courtesy of the Vance & Hines series and the magic of YouTube, viewers can catch a three-way bird’s eye view of the experience.

This video, which was shot during practice the day before the XR1200 series race at Road America, shows onboard footage of Kyle from the front, the rear and panoramic views of the race course ahead. And, of course, we’re excited that the front shots show off the Kuryakyn graphic logo prominently displayed on Kyle’s helmet for all the world to see.

The video follows Kyle through two laps of the course, accompanied by music by Martin Solveig and, of course, the peppy purr of Kyle’s Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Kyle placed 9th the following day, while two other Kuryakyn-sponsored riders — Bryan Desimone and Gerry Signorelli — placed 13th and 15th respectively. You might recall that Kyle was the winner of the inaugural AMA Pro Vance & Hines XR1200 series at Daytona International Speedway earlier this year.
