Willie G’s Places to See: Daytona Beach

1.)   “The World’s Most Famous Beach”

Daytona Beach is rich in Motorsports history.

Daytona Beach is rich in Motorsports history.

This one may seem obvious, but it’s crazy how many riders  head to Daytona in the spring and never go to the beach.   Go! you deserve it. In some parts of the country, you’ve been cooped up all winter long dealing with record snowfalls and sub-zero temperatures.  Now it’s time to take your bike out on the hard packed sand for a uniquely Daytona tradition.

2.)   Destination Daytona

Built as a mecca for Harley riders by the late Bruce Rossmeyer, the 150-acre Destination Daytona is the best place to see what your favorite parts vendors have been up to over the winter. Buy a bike (or a T-shirt), watch a live band, grab some food or a beer… See and do it all at Destination Daytona!

Make sure to stop by the Küryakyn booth at Destination Daytona.

3.)   Daytona International Speedway

Rich in NASCAR history, Daytona International Speedway (DIS) is an absolute monster of a racetrack built in 1959 by NASCAR’s founder William France Sr. During bike week, DIS hosts some of the best AMA races of the season including Daytona Supercross, Daytona Flat Track, and the popular Daytona 200.  Be sure to check DIS’s website for a full list of events.

4.)   Main St Daytona Beach

I don’t care if it’s your first time or 50th time attending Bike Week, some traditions never get old.  The party on Main Street is one of them. Main Street is full of bars and businesses that are locked into party mode from sun up to sun down; a truce spectator’s paradise.  From the bikes parked on the curb, the food, the bands, and the bars, you’re sure to have  great time.  Just show up early as the spaces on sidewalk fill up fast.

The party never stops on Main St.

5.)   The Cabbage Patch

The Cabbage Patch is a uniquely Daytona experience that you won't soon forget.

No list of Bike Week attractions would be complete without at least mentioning the down-home biker fun that happens at The Cabbage Patch.  The first time you hear about The Cabbage Patch you will undoubtedly hear the words “Cole Slaw Wrestling.” Believe me, this is something you have to see to believe.  If you want to say you truly experienced Daytona Bike Week, don’t miss it.
