Three for Thursday: Ribbed Floorboards, ISO Pegs and a Touring Seat

If it’s a day past midweek, it must be time for Three for Thursday, our newest feature that attempts to bring you up to date on Kuryakyn’s latest goods. This week we’re putting the spotlight on a trio of items that provide both comfort and quality to your ride. The accompanying photos tell the story, but you should read the content to get all the details. See you next Thursday!

Ribbed Floorboards

Kuryakyn Ribbed Floorboards

Name and part number? Ribbed Floorboards (Kuryakyn p/n 4357)

Where does it go? Replaces either the rider or passenger foot pegs.

What makes this part so great? These boards will fit just about any bike with a Kuryakyn Splined adapter (sold separately) and they feature five points of adjustability to get the perfect fit. They are durable, lightweight, and provide a sturdy and much more comfortable surface to rest your feet while riding.

What is it made of? Cast aluminum frame with a soft molded rubber footrest pad.

Is it hard to install? Just a few simple hand tools are all you need. The instructions are very clear and there are plenty of pictures to guide you. LINK HERE

What bikes will this part fit? Most Harley-Davidson’s and Metric Cruisers with adequate clearance for a floorboard in place of standard foot pegs.

What else do you make to coordinate with this part? When used in place of the passenger foot pegs, the Kuryakyn Retractable Passenger Pegs are a great compliment to the Ribbed Floorboards, and give the passenger an alternate foot position while riding. (Note:  Retractable Passenger Pegs should only be used on motorcycles with a non-pivoting or rotating peg mount).

Trident Small ISO Pegs

Name and part number? Trident Small ISO Pegs (Kuryakyn p/n 7590)

Kuryakyn Trident Small ISO Pegs

Where does it go? In place of the factory footpeg for either the rider or passenger.  It can also be used as highway pegs.

What makes this part so great? “ISO” is short for isolation dampening. As a result, these pegs provide the cushion needed for comfort and the traction needed for stability — thanks to the large one-piece rubber pad incorporated into the peg. A replaceable rubber footpad and Kuryakyn’s innovative peg adapter system make changing pegs and parts easier than ever.

What is it made of? Cast aluminum body, steel hardware and a molded one-piece rubber footrest.

Is it hard to install? Not at all, just a few basic hand tools to remove the stock foot peg and replace it with the new one.

What bikes will this part fit? Any bike that uses the standard HD style peg mounts. This includes and Kuryakyn Highway peg mounts, and most modern Harley-Davidson’s equipped with foot pegs from the factory.

What else do you make to coordinate with this part? Kuryakyn Longhorn Offset mounts work great when used in highway peg applications. Any of the Kuryakyn ISO product line also works great and coordinates well with the new Trident ISO Pegs. Available for metric applications (p/n 7595) with bike specific foot peg adapters.

Touring Seat for GL 1800

Kuryakyn Touring Seat for GL 1800

Name and part number? Driver & Passenger Seat Base (Kuryakyn p/n 8975)

Where does it go? In place of the factory Gold Wing 1800 seat.

What makes this part so great? No other seat on the market is this comfortable for your GL1800! We teamed up with Mustang Seats and together gathered tons of information from our customers to build the perfect seat based on what they told us they wanted.

What is it made of? The same great materials Mustang Seat’s has used for years. Only the highest-grade padding is used, in conjunction with a covering that is far superior to natural leather.

Is it hard to install? Just four bolts to remove the factory grab handles and the stock seat will come off. Then simply replace with the new seat and reinstall the factory grab handles.

What bikes will this part fit? 2001 to 2010 Honda Gold Wing 1800.

What else do you make to coordinate with this part? Driver and passenger backrests to match, Sheepskin Comfort Covers and Rain Covers all work great with this seat. Also available in two heated versions — one for bikes equipped with a factory heated seat (’06-’10 models) and one for bikes that were not equipped from the factory with a heated seat (’01-’10 models).
