As you’d imagine, many employees here at Küryakyn love to ride. Marketing and Communications Project Coordinator Kris Poston is no exception. Kris makes sure order is kept in the “MarComm” group at all times during her regular 8:00 to 5:00 gig, but in her spare time she rides her V Star 950 as much as possible. Recently she tried out the all-new XKürsion XS3.0 Seat/Rack Bag during the St. Croix Valley Riders annual Chili Feed and camping trip. When she got back, Team Kuryakyn headed up the interrogation.

Team Küryakyn: What main feature of the XS3.0 stood out the most?

Kris Poston: I loved all the compartments for my stuff. Instead of rummaging around in the dark tent, I was able to easily find all the little items like my cell phone or flashlight because everything had its own place. I was on no-work mode though, so the phone stayed stashed away for most of the weekend.

TK: How about mounting the XS3.0 to your V Star, was it a difficult process?

KP: It came with more than enough mounting straps, and once I figured out which arrangement worked best on my V Star I knew the bag wasn’t going anywhere. Velcro straps helped keep the bag in place before tightening down the cinch straps that attach to heavy-duty D-rings. There was no slippage at all, and I didn’t even notice it was back there while riding despite its size.

TK: What other highlights stood out during the weekend with the XS3.0?

KP: I really liked the adjustable/removable coat flap. Heading to the campsite I used it to tie down my sleeping roll. When I was out riding for the day I used it to hold my jacket as the day warmed up. Another cool feature was the rain cover. We didn’t experience any rain during the weekend, but I did use it overnight to keep the morning dew from dampening the bag.

TK: How would you sum up your overall impression of the XS3.0?

KP: I could easily see myself using the bag for day-to-day commuting or loading it up for some serious wandering. What stood out most to me is the amount of cargo I was able to pack. You can tell a biker designed it because every item had its own place—I totally recommend getting one.
